Shahrul Syahiddil : Critiques on article.

The article is written by Victoria L. Dunckley who is a integrative psychiatrist and also an expertise in children with complex or treatmment-resistant mental health. She is also the author of a column for a blog in psychology today. Working as a fully-practice doctor and psychiatrist, she's also a speakers for a parenting group online.

The purpose of the article is the writer try to conveyed on how the screentime really affects the kid's mode and personal attitude. She did mentioned on how the mechanism really works since she's the expert in the field. The author claims that the lack of interaction between the kids and the other living elements leads to the kid's mode disoriented. The screentime also brings bad effects to the kid's mental and physical state since most of parents nowadays think that it isn't harmful to their children.

The author did a good job on the article by presenting a very good facts and explaination. For those who are an expertise in the field, the article feels like some kind of one sided where it doesn't stated some of the good effect of the screentime towards children. The title itself displayed the stance of the writer where the writer seems like to put all the blame towards the screentime and the bad effect that it cause. Sometimes, it's not just screentime that leads to the kids depression and moody state as the parents also play important roles. Many parent just ignore their kids attention by giving their kids some gadgets to play. But they don't realise that the attention that they aren't receive also leads to the kids moody where the gadgets is just an enzyme for the reaction. Hence, the scenario got worsen.

On the second thought, the writer did mentioned that it's some kind of crazy things to do to restricted the usage of electronics drastically. Nowadays, electronic devices somehow have been the need of daily life. But the author forget to emphasize the role of parents is really important to counter the restriction. Parents should play extra time where they are facing new 21st century challenge. With a good guidance and support from the parenting group, the restriction of the electronic devices isn't impossible.

Last but not least, parents should re-enforce their responbility by paying more attention to their kids. The needs for attention is much important  thanthe  need for an interactive screentime with gadget. Thank you. 3
