The author's intention is to create awareness to the reader about the danger of electronic devices especially to kids. At the beginning of the article, the author stated the problem parents are facing nowadays. Many youth are plugged in and turned out of "live" action for many more hours of the day than experts consider healthy for normal development and it starts at an early age. The author words and comments used in writing this article is straightforward that shows how worried she is and how serious the problem is.
The author seems to be worry that many parents haven't realize what kind of threat electronics devices are to their kids.
